Women make up nearly 20% of active duty military personnel and over 10% of all veterans in the United States. Yet the resources, communities, and conversations around veteran healing are often built with men in mind.
At Peacekeepers Foundation, we see you. We honor your service. And we've created a space specifically for you.
The Unique Challenges Women Warriors Face
Female veterans often navigate a complex set of challenges that differ from their male counterparts:
- Military sexual trauma (MST) and its lasting effects
- Feeling invisible or overlooked in veteran communities
- Balancing the warrior identity with roles as mothers, wives, and caregivers
- Difficulty finding peer support from women who truly understand military service
- Higher rates of depression and anxiety compared to male veterans
These wounds are real. They deserve real attention and real healing.
